The channel was a little rough, so Capt. Pat decided to wait a while before we attempted a crossing. We heaed out around 11pm and the ride out was a little bumpy. Once we got to Santa Rosa Island we anchored up and turned on the squid lights. We were hoping to make some squid but we had zero luck. Here is a picture of the moon just before sunrise.

With all the rain we have had this year Santa Rosa is REALLY green! We started fishing for white seabass before the sun came up for no success.

Here I am shooting the breeze at the rail. I really enjoy fishing on the Pacific Dawn. The boat has been through many modifications since Pat Cavanaugh has taken over. Two seasons ago he reconfigured the bunkroom. They did an awesome job. This Winter I visited Pat while he was doing boat work and I checked out the new heads he was working on. The boat is awesome. Chuck, the cook, makes great food. He also adds some variety on the menu. Chuck will not disappoint.
