Capt
Brian
put
us
on
a
spot
near
the
kelp.
The
bass
were
biting
full
speed
on
fresh-dead.
Then
Capt
Brian
hooks
into
a
seabass!
Then
I
hook
into
one
and
my
line
breaks!
Doh!
I
retie,
cast
back
out,
and
hook
into
another
one!
Sweet!
Right
into
the
weeds
he
goes.
Doh
doh!
I
try
and
try
but
he
was
not
coming
out.
Then
Warren
hooks
into
a
croaker,
and
the
he
gets
kelped.
However,
Warren
was
able
to
get
his
croaker
out
of
the
salad
and
lands
it!
Way
to
go
pops--you
definitely
worked
for,
and
earned
that
fish!!!

Capt
John
told
us
the
fish
were
hanging
just
out
of
sight.
He
told
us
to
drop
our
baits
just
deep
enough
to
where
we
couldn't
see
them.
I
grabbed
my
dropper-loop
setup
and
dropped
down
a
4/0
hook
with
3
chovies
pinned
on.
After
a
few
minutes
I
got
a
seabass.
I
dropped
back
down,
and
10
mins
later
I
landed
another
seabass.

got
lucky
and
got
the
biggest
croaker.
Although
the
seabass
bite
slowed,
we
still
had
a
great
time
fishing

Steve
and
John!
Thanks
guys
for
a
fun
time!

Today
we
are
fishing
with
Captain
Joe
Villareal
on
the
Mirage.
We
departed
Port
Hueneme
on
time.
We
loaded
bait
and
headed
out.
The
fishing
at
the
outer
islands
has
been
decent
for
rockfish
but
the
White
Seabass
have
been
a
no
show
recently.
Since
the
White
Seabass
have
been
biting
locally
we
decided
to
fish
local.
Our
first
stop
was
Chinese
Harbor
to
look
for
some
Squid.
We
looked
everywhere
but
NO
SQUID.
We
would
like
to
thank
our
great
sponsor
Candy
Catchers!Squid
or
not!
We
got
our
White
Seabass.
Here
is
one
of
the
fish.
We
started
catching
them
around
4
AM.

The
fish
would
come
in
flurries.
It
was
not
wide
open
but
we
did
end
up
with
a
decent
score.
Most
of
the
fish
were
caught
on
dropper
loops
with
Sardines.

The
fish
just
keep
biting
and
we
hooked
up
two
or
three
at
a
time.

on

Ian
is
a
great
deckhand
and
I
enjoy
fishing
with
him.

I
was
a
little
rusty
since
i
had
not
been
fishing
much
lately.
But
I
eventually
got
back
into
White
Seabass
shape.
I
caught
this
one
on
a
dropper
loop
with
a
LIVE
SARDINE.
This
is
the
first
White
Seabass
I
have
caught
with
a
Sardine.
I
guess
I
have
been
spoiled
over
the
years
with
the
luxury
of
fishing
with
LIVE
SQUID.

We
had
good
grade
on
the
fish
today.
I
would
say
most
were
around
20
pounds.
We
did
have
a
couple
bigger
and
a
few
smaller.
But
most
around
20.
