Eastern Pacific Ocean — from Alaska south to Central California. Found in rocky intertidal and subtidal areas in 0–100 feet. A member of the greenling family — most common in Alaska, British Columbia, and Washington State along rocky shorelines and reefs. Males have distinctive white spots on a darker background; females are brownish with orange spotting.
