Best Baits: Small worm pieces are the top bait. Small nightcrawler sections work well. Freshwater shrimp and grass shrimp are excellent. Light tackle with small hooks near vegetation in Delta sloughs and tule edges produces consistent catches — a fun, underrated panfish target.
