Ratfish

Large, distinctive head with rabbit-like teeth and large iridescent green eyes. Brownish body with white spots. Long, rat-like tapering tail. A venomous spine precedes the first dorsal fin. Adults reach 24–38 inches.\n\n

Commonly taken as bycatch on deep-drop rigs targeting rockfish or other bottom fish. Not targeted for food but sometimes taken incidentally. Use caution handling — the dorsal spine can cause a painful wound.
