Brown to tan body with a distinctive purplish interior to the mouth — visible when the fish opens to breathe. Small dark spots scattered across the body. Adults reach 36–48 inches.\n\n

Occasionally taken on cut bait near reef structure. Not a primary target. Handle carefully.
