Giant Kelpfish

Long, slender body with a long pointed snout and a single long dorsal fin. Color matches the surrounding kelp — typically brown, olive, or burgundy. Can change color rapidly. Adults reach 20–24 inches.\n\n

Best Baits: Live anchovies, shrimp, small pieces of squid.\n\n

Taken incidentally in kelp by anglers fishing for other species. Not commonly targeted but an interesting catch. Their camouflage makes them nearly invisible in the kelp.
