Dover Sole

Uniformly brown to grayish-brown, left-eyed flatfish with a small mouth and distinctive slimy mucus coating. Body is elongated compared to other soles. Adults commonly reach 18–24 inches.\n\n

Best Baits: Squid, sandworms, cut anchovy.\n\n

Taken incidentally on deep bottom rigs. The slimy coating makes them difficult to handle but the flesh is excellent table fare.
